How to backup ElkRP account data?

What is the best (easiest) way to backup my ElkRP account data?

Don't you just hit "Save"?
You can then save the database file to a CD or another offsite PC or online backup service. Or...just create a draft email and add it as an attachment if you have a Google or yahoo online email account.

I actually don't use the default Elkdb location, rather I had it create another Elk db on my RAID1 server drive, which itself is offsite-backed up every time I remember. (aka, every 6-9 months, I better do that today...)

The other benefit is that I installed ElkRP on all of my machines, and any of them can pull up the ElkDB off the server.

Do you know, does this also download (upload?) the M1XEP configuration?

FWIW -- I'd be in some trouble without the comments in my rules. If I lost the ElkRP source database, it's true that the ElkDB will have the most recent executables, but the comments would be gone and I would lose hours in reconstruction.

You can use hardcopy as a last resort.

eh, it's just a regular elkrp install, just with the data pointed elsewhere. Whatever ElkRP normally upload/downloads is what that would do.

On my ElkRP, when I hit "save", there is no dialog box. It just saves a file somewhere. The "save as" command doesn't bring up an option to redirect where the file is saved, so I don't think a back up is as easy as just hitting save. Any other suggestions for an easy way to back up the account?

save is just save-account, and isn't what you want. You need to open/close database. That's where you can find your current db, move it wherever you want, then do an OpenDb from that location.

Then you can do a windows backup from that fileserver location whenever you want. (ie, setup a scheduled task to copy it from that location to wherever on a weekly basis)

Use the communications/options to find the database location. You can go into the ELKRP folder that holds the data bases and copy them to another location.
