How to install M1G

Hi, I'm a very beginner to security system installation and have ordered and received ELK M1G along with databus and zone expander. I'm planning to connect many fire alarms, motion detectors and lighting control by Insteon. Is there a video available in the internet that shows how to install this system or a step by step guide with clear diagrams or pictures. I have studied the M1G manual and it was not clear to me.

What is missing? Which point needs more explanation than mentioned in the manual ?

the mechanical installation ?
the wiring ?
Questions about sensors?
the programming of the system?

Any other point?

I am having a similiar problem on viewing Kanak's RP instructional video. I could be missing a codec.

They are also available on the M1dealer.elkproducts.com site

edit:I am having a problem on the ELK site now. I will have it checked out.

edit again: I can gain access to the M1dealer.elkproducts.com site from work but not at home which indicates a codec problem at home. I can not access the Kanak site from either location.

I am pretty new at this too. A book that really helped me was "Affordable Security: A Do-It-Yourself Guide to Protecting Your Home, Business, and Automobile." You can find it on Amazon, although only through 3rd party sellers. The book did a nice job of explaining the different technologies (e.g., motion sensors), showing installation considerations, wiring issues, etc. You can also see the DIY wiring guide here, the article on installing an Elk system here, and also the guide here. You can learn a lot just by browsing the different topics that have been posted over the years here at CocoonTech.
