In home cable distribution via provider

As part of my pre wire for my new home, I have home run all my wire to my electronics closet including RG6 for cable. I was planning to do all my own distribution via a good quality splitter which also allows signals back to my service provider (Cox). My wiring guy has suggested that Cox will be able to install their own devices (splitter, amp, etc) as needed to feed my outlets. I am not aware of what that option really entails vs doing it myself.
Has anyone let your cable service provider do that task? What did they do? Any reason I should not let them do that?

I had Cox provide a splitter (actually two of them) when I had trouble with my internet connection (ISP is via Cox). Over time as more and more homes were added in this new development the signal degraded to my cablemodem (was previously used with a six way splitter. Worked flawlessly for four years.

Then a few months ago, started having drop out issues. Cox guy came, measured the signal strength, then put in a two way splitter before a six way (that he had, didn't use mine), put the cable modem on that two way, and all was well.

I guess I would give it a go with Cox, especially if you are going to use them as an ISP so they can determine signal strength as needed.

I suppose for a new house it would be good to be there when the cable guy comes and have him show you the actual signal strength results from his meter. That way you can write it down for future use and it may also help you determine if you need amps or what type of splitters you may need.

I plan to do this for my new house.

How many outlet would the cable guy typically connect? If he will provide splitters and such to support say 4 outlets in my house then at leats you get a few free splitters out of the deal. You could then reconfigure everything later.
