In-House speaker silenced during phonecall

Doing some testing today. I have my system set up to call mey cell when a burgler alarm activates. When the burglar alarm activates the message on the speaker in the house starts, but as soon as the system calls my cell, the speaker goes silent. As soon as I hang up the cell the speaker comes back on.

So if it is alarming and the notification message stating the authorities have been notified starts to go over the speaker, the burgler won't be hearing anything during the call to my cell. This silence is in addition to the silence during the entry delay.

Any ideas how to remedy?

Thanks,
John

That's known behavior. The M1 only has one voice module, so while it's making a voice call to you, it can't be making announcements at the same time inside the home.

I don't have RP on this laptop, but I think you can set up a pager format, then again I might be thinking back to the first M1's before the G's.

problem with that (e-mail or txt) is I may not notice right away......phone ringing gets my attention quick

Is it possible to change the text tone for the elk in your contacts on your particular cellphone, I can with my iPhone. So when it contacts you it can have a long loud ring tone, similar to a voice call. All other texts would stay standard.

OK, I found DTMF Pager, but it dials the phone and silences the voice at home also....is there a way to send a TXT (vice call or e-mail)? I searched the options and manuals and don't see it.

Thanks,

Figured it out. For verizon you send an e-mail to your [email protected] and it goes as a text.

Next problem I had is my smartphone didn't have distinct ringtone for e-mail or text (on tone for all incoming e-mail or text). So I downloaded an app that does distinct ringtone.

Works now!

Thanks......

Nice. Ya why I wondered. My phone can, but I had to edit each contact individually, and there are a lot of phones out there.

Glad u got it
