In wall gang box microphone for voice reconition?

I have one of those mics as well, they really are incredible sensitive. Just like BSR, I used an existing CAT5 run that I had in place (also used for video), seems to work well. Not sure how well these would work for a VR application, as it will pick up a lot of background noise too.
Ah, didn't pick up (pun intended) on the fact you want these for VR. I don't think these would be a good candidate per what Dan said above.

I've been using Crown PZM-11 mics for voice recognition for years... they're made to fit into a 1-gang box:

They seems made for a 1 gang box. Would this work for a LV bracket attached to a HV box with decora faceplate? Or alternative in a multigang HV box with HV/LV divider plate?

I know people say not to put audio stuff to close to HV, but woulnt the divider help? Any thought on this woud be much appreciated.

In general how well does VR work?

Does CQC support VR?

I find activation of the mic the most important part. You simply can NOT leave a mic listening. You chances of accurate recognition go way up when it is only listening while you are issuing commands.

If you have not seen it, my Magic Box video demonstrates very good voice recognition using the momentary switch concept use $.50 microphone and a $.50 switch, all soldered with my crappy skills...

Just what I wanted to ask about! I was thinking of finding a DECORA styled intercom box... it would work great because of the push button, speaker, mic, etc.......

Anyone know of a part?
