I currently have a Gadspot 4ch dvr (gs2001) works great on my home network. I have cable (rr) with a linksys wireless router (wrt 300n) with 3 wireless laptops and two desktops plugged into the router (cat-5).in the router I’ve set the port forwarding to the following : app Name =gadspod: port range forwarding start 2002: end port 2002 protocol tcp/udp (both) ip address = 192.168.1.118. joined dyndns and setup my account as : found.dontexist.com . I then setup the dvr as follows. Ip mode; static: video port 9000: web port 2002: ip 192.168.1.118: net mask 255.255.255.0: gateway 192.168.1.1 :No passwords at this time. This dvd came with a program called NetViewer D8 and from the laptops and desktops you can view the cam. When I goto a neighbors home and using Iexplorer and type the address : http :// found.dontexist.com:2002 It will load the same netviews d8 on that machine which makes me think I’ve connected. But when I setup the netviewer I enter the following (same as my home machine) Host name http://found.dontexist.com:2002 : Ip address : 192.168.1.118 and video port 9000. try and log on (no password set) and it comes back connection failed. Is there something I’m missing . the gadspot people give me different answers with each phone call. thanks for any help

Go to your status tab on your Linksys WRT300n and look for your Internet IP address and try that instead of using the found.dontexist.com name.

You 'may' also have to forward port 9000, but I'm not sure.

I've never used this particular DVR or software but as a general comment and after looking quickly after the manual I found online...
1) You can't use the 192.168.1.118 address from outside of your house as it's a local address only. From outside your house you need to enter your external IP address of the house or your dyndyns entry. To find your external IP - from in your house - go to www.whatismyip.com or www.showmyip.com
2) You'll need to enter in the appropriate port as set your router
3) According to the manual you need to forward at least 9000 and 8080 (assuming you're using the default ports) under the virtual server section of your router. It also shows port 554 in the manual but I'm not sure if that's required

I hope that helps!
