Installing NX-454 secure

I see that the NX-454 comes with a plastic "tray". I assume you mount this, and this allows you access to change the battery.

Should I use the double-sided tape, or should I drill it in with screws to make it more secure?

...also maybe I'm being a bit paranoid, but what if someone breaks the glass, and then can hold the sensor to the contact and open the window? Yes I have glass break detectors, but not enough...yet.

Thoughts?

Yes, the 454 just snaps into the tray. It is not a super tight hold but should work in most circumstances. The tape should be fine, the 454 will come out of the tray before the tape comes off the surface. You can tape the 454 directly to the surface without the tray, but it will be a little more difficult every 5 years or so when you change the battery.


A broken or opened windows is always a concern, not just with the 454 but any contact wireless or not. You should apply the same concept of backing up the perimeter with glass breaks and/or motion detectors. You may just have to stay paranoid until you get those in
