Insteon and X10 and HAI

Okay, I'll be getting more Insteon switches and using them in x10 mode as I can't find 2-way X10 Switchlincs anymore. There's such a thing called X10 to Insteaon bridge? So in HAI, if I send a command A1 ON, the bridge can translate it to Insteon code and the switch will pick up the signal? And vice verse when someone flip the switch, the bridge will receive the signal and transmit back to x10 and HAI pick it up and update?

I just wonder if this is more relaible than using plain old x10. I have to say, so far it's been running flawless ever since I put in a coupler/repeater.

I'm talking installing another 9 Insteon switches (total of 13), plus about 30 x10 already.

Thanks for your help.

For a brief time, SmartHome had an X10-to-Insteon translator unit. They sold the beta unit for $99, but it never got out of beta status before it was canceled. The options now would be an Elk M1 panel, an ISY, or running software 24/7 such as PowerHome or HomeSeer that can speak both X10 and Insteon.

But if you are happy with the Insteon switches in X10 mode, then just stick with that.
