insteon keypadlinc question

i just hooked up an insteon keypadlinc and and an insteon switchlinc in a virtual 3 way circuit controlling a light. the switchlinc is the primry (connected to the load) and the keypad is the secondary.

both of them work, but when i turn the light on or off using the keypad, the light goes on or off as it should. but then the on and off buttons on the keypad flash quickly a few times.

any ideas why it is doing that?

Sounds like a broken link. Insteon is a two-way-with-confirmation protocol, which will retry sending a message if it isn't acknowledged. That flashing indicates it is trying to talk to a device no longer on your powerlines.

Do a factory reset on that button only, then re-link the device to make the flashing go away.
