Just wondering if there's an easy way to hook up Teledoorbell and HAI so HAI can trigger events when someone rings the doorbell? Anyone done something similar?
The best thing I can recommend is to use the Elk Doorbell ring detector. It will let you keep your lighted doorbell as well as provide contact closure for your HAI system. Or are you talking about something different (specific hardware for HAI systems)??
Kinda on the same subject: If using the Russound intercom system I need to do some research to see if russound can trigger HAI to do a series of events. Russounds intercom doesnt get much attention.

The ELK 930 will work with an HAI but will most likely need an ELK 960 delay timer as well. An HAI input requires 3/4 of a second before it recognizes the input. Most people will not hold a doorbell/door station button for that long. With the Russound intercom, the ISK3 door station has contacts on it that close when someone pushes the button. You have to have an extra two conductors in conjunction with the Cat-5 for the station. If you are going the Russound route you would still need the delay timer.
I didn't realize that about the HAI. If that is the case an Elk 960 would work as mentioned above. Remember though, you would need an additional DC power supply (wall wart would work) to power the Elk 960. This also adds another $25 to the expense. If you need any help with wiring this up, let me know.
