Am I falling behind in the news?

Two men arrested after rushing Lochte, Burke during 'Dancing with the Stars'

Who is Lochte?  What is Dancing with the Stars?

IVB  I understand how you feel; but really this isn't a political discussion.

We are all virtual friends here and you know what is said about mixing in topics of politics and religion.
In my experience, Apple vs Android is very much a political and religious discussion. 96% of us have already picked God we'll worship. And, like politics, can rarely be convinced to change our red or blue jerseys.

At least get some new material, these are the same arguments from years ago.

What you say is true for  lot of people but you should understand that there are those of us who just don't give a damn. As I said earlier I have an Iphone because we can buy them at a discount. When a Samsung or LG device will work for me at a better price I'll switch in a heartbeat. I also use windows and have loaded Unix in a VM and I use what serves my purpose or what circumstances bring my way.

My wife and I own Volvo, Ford and Chevy and I recently traded a Nissan. I can't relate to this feud at all.

Actually it's dancing with people who think that they are stars and Lochte is a spoiled brat that stirred up the Olympics with his childish behavior.

I have no idea who Burke is.

C'mon I have a chevy and a Ford and the Volvo is 2008 and was built by Ford. And I don't regret the Nissan. It  was a Frontier pickup that I owned for 12 years and only had to change the battery, exhaust and an O2 sensor in the entire time. Of course it only had about 40k on the odometer after all that time.

Anyway the Ford and Chevy parts are built all over the world. It's a small world that is getting smaller and we live with a global economy. Accept it.

Sure, me too. Had a M$ smartphone in 2005 (precursor to the Cingular 8125 but blanking on model) running CQC, then iPhone, now Android. Contemplated the new Windows phone due to awesome camera but the app support was too spartan.

Maybe we should have our own damn keynote. Our jerseys will be yellow/black (not red or blue). And we need a flag.

LOL that's showmanship? it's seems more like brainwashing.
So you complain about people focused on worshipping Apple but what about the people that invest untold hours into editing these videos?  What motivates them to tediously dissect a presentation and clip out each and every superlative?  To cut and paste these meaningless bits together solely for the objective of mocking Apple?  This the highest and best use of their time?

One might think these are rather sad individuals that need to find a more positive outlet for their energies.  But hey, I guess you found their efforts entertaining.

you mean like people who post about android vulnerabilities that affect 900 kajillion devices...but when you look past the hyperbole you find something that's just meh? hmm there's a theme here

Maybe I'm not following, but I don't see the connection. Posting about security vulnerabilities (e.g. warning consumers) doesn't correlate to editing a keynote for laughs. What am I missing?

@Mike. The smiley indicated it was humour but I should have marked it (sarcasm),  maybe. Sorry you bit.

It was just an old retort we often heard through the ages.

Since I stopped driving North American style vehicles they all last more than the expected 6 year from a Chev, and the 4 years to scrap pile, I got out of my Ford Econoline van. It was riddled with rust holes everywhere, as were all my GM and Ford vehicles after 6-8 years.

Ohh, I had a Chrysler product back in the 60's that didn't rust out. It caught on fire that destroyed it.

I have owned 3 Toyota vehicles since 1993 and every one were traded in fully functional, and without body rust. My current RAV4 got 50 mpg crossing the prairies through the Dakotas. You know the figure GM and Ford said was impossible in the 70s?

Hell, on my last Camry I only changed the oil 5 times in 210,000km. They don't need it. That should tell you I don't even wash my vehicles, let alone do preventative maintenance. I only drive them.

IOW I don't drive American style vehicles, now,  and never will again, after being ripped off by the giants for too many years.

BTW: I am North American. Not what YOU may consider American, but Canadian. Soon, we will both be Chinese anyway. :)
