Over a year ago, I switched to Elk Wireless sensors due to false alarms that would occur randomly once a year. Since I switched all my GE window sensors to Elk 2way, the false alarms have disappeared. I personally think the Elk 2way is a better product because of the confirmation function. Because Elk doesn't make a wireless magnetic driveway sensor (Resolution Products), I had to keep my GE receiver installed. If you install Elk and GE sensors as RAL indicates, they will work correctly.
If you do buy Elk 2way sensor with CR2032 batteries, it’s prudent to check the voltage before install. Also, the sensor should be installed on right side of window, so battery can easily be replaced.
I still have 10 GE slimline window sensors if anybody is interested in purchasing.
