Kitchen TV mount, pics

Here was my project yesterday on my day off. Wiring it and getting everything behind it was a huge PITA because the wall behind the fridge was made with 2x2's so the fridge could be pushed in farther than normal. I put one outlet behind the TV, a dual outlet above the cabinet, 4 Cat6 above the cabinet, RG6 to the TV, and an HDMI from behind the TV to above the cabinet. I have an AppleTV running Boxee plugged into it now, and of course broadcast TV.

My plan is to make a Quartz Composer file that will display the status of everything for the HA/Security stuff, including live streams from cameras.

Pics: (ignore the yellow paint, it was here when we moved in and it's going away this weekend. After spending a great deal of my high school days exploring an abandoned Kirkbride Sanitarium, institutional yellow makes me want to go on a rampage.)

Looks great! What is the size of the TV? I was going to say 22", but since it is a Vizio I guess it is probably a 26" You also clearly have ceilings higher than 8'.

It's a 1080p 32". I was going to try to squeeze a 42" in there, but it would have covered the trim on the door frame and not allowed enough airflow on the top. Ceilings are 9.5 feet.

We have a huge coffer thing in our bedroom ceiling. It's 9.5 feet around the edges of the room, and 13 feet in the coffer. The sides of the coffer are 45 degree angles. I was thinking of mounting one up in the coffer on the 45 degree slope so you could sit in bed and just look up at a 45 degree angle to see it. Of course, that one would be even worse to wire because that's the only part of the attic with no access.

looks awesome ! Fantastic job!

Reminds of a joke I told one of my techs on a job a couple of years ago. "Do you know how to improve the picture on a Visio?" "Turn it off!"

Sorry signal15, I couldn't resist...

That's awesome. And not entirely untrue. It doesn't have the greatest picture quality, but it's WAY better than Vizio's first stuff that they came out with. That stuff was horrible. I got this thing for $325 though, brand new. Last one at Costco. I can't complain. It was better than the Philips sitting right next to it for $200 more.
