Hi, I have a question about the M1XRF2N: Are there any other wireless devices besides the ones for ElkGuard? Like smoke detectors, glass breaks, carbon monixide detectors, etc.? Also, is the M1XRF2N a "receiver" only (not a transmitter also)? This defeats the purpose of having a wireless keypad (I like to have a display, though).
Okay now, here's my question since I have a wireless doorbell that is using the zone type "analog zone" only, as when setting the zone to non-alarm, when pressing a doorbell button, nothing happens, even if it's at 4.2 voltage stable (inactive). (Note that I don't have that much time to run back and forth since my keypad is in my bedroom.)
What I'd like to do is get rid of my wireless doorbell and perhaps use ELK-106056 instead when M1XRF2N comes out. But even then, I don't think it'll be that economical, as I wanted to have GE's wireless devices, like mentioned above, and that GE doesn't have a device that functions as a normal button (besides a panic button, which I don't think it'd be that much suitable for front entry door).
With M1XRF2N/G aside, is it possible to modify the NX454 transmitter to include a button? I don't know how I can wire that to a reed switch...
Perhaps what I could do is get myself an NX548e and an M1XRF2N, which by then will allocate up to 192 zones (WOW! Wireless temperature sensors, anyone?
)! Thus, I could have NX548e for GE devices not available for ElkGuard/M1XRF2N and have M1XRF2N for any standard devices (wireless transmitters, motion detectors, etc.), plus a wireless doorbell transmitter. But then I don't think it'll be practical unless an M1 firmware allows it...
