Motion detector near a glassbreak.....

Im using both glassbreaks and motions (along with actual contacts) to protect a wall where I have an entry door and 3 large windows.

Is it OK to have the motion sensor near the glassbreak? Im using Glasstech gb detectors, and 835i motion detectors.

Im thinking they shouldnt interfere with each other sensor-wise, but I was worried the motion sensor might "get in the way" of the glass break detecting.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

It shouldn't but fyi, there are optimal places for mounting that glass break that should be detailed on the instructions as far as height and distance from the detected glass areas.

The glass break uses sound for detection, while the motion uses microwave radiation and infrared light for detection. They will not interfere with each other.

A typical place to locate a glass break is on the ceiling within 15 feet of the windows or on the opposite wall of the windows within 15 feet and with line-of-sight. A typical place to locate motion sensors is in a corner facing away from windows.

Thanks!

I know the GBs and motions will work where I planned, I tested them separate but I hadnt tested them together. I was worried the motion detector would physically be in the way of the microphone of the gb, where the gb would "think" its a wall and not hear anything beyond it.

I had to place my motions in a non-typical location, since the nearest corners were too far from the windows (or should I say, too close....directly over so they wouldnt really catch anyone coming in through the window below).

Thanks again.
