Multiple Garage Door Control

I'm looking for a solution that will allow open/close control of 5 garage doors from a single remote or iPhone app.  The doors are at several different locations and the motors are from different manufacturers. We own multiple properties and they all require different remotes to access the doors so the goal would be to eliminate the need for a bag full of remotes and instead have a single remote or app that would open/close the doors no matter which property we were on.

What I'm thinking is that I would need a generic, manufacturer independent, relay device that would trigger an open/close command upon a button activation.  Bluetooth is the only viable option I can see that would allow for site independent control.  We installed several of these http://www.securemote.com but there was a quirky bluetooth connection issue with the newer iPhones that required the units to be re-paired to the iPhone each time they came in proximity, they would not automatically re-connect.  I spoke with tech support and they were aware of the issue but could not provide a solution.

Does anyone know of any other products out there that might do something like this?

Though bluetooth is cool you may want to KISS and simply use universal receivers that work with a standard remote.  Because the garages are in different locations you can use the same remote (3 button perhaps, allowing for separate control of 3 different doors at one location) and then learn that same remote into all the receivers.

You can also just purchase a 5 button FOB and program each button for one garage door or as mentioned above program the now included with almost every new car 3rd garage door button for all 5 garage doors if the vehicles are used.

I like that mine that do not function if the car is off; nice safety feature.

Even if the doors can't use a single remote, there are ways to add additional receivers.  Wayne Dalton used to make a good one but apparently it's discontinued, but I know liftmaster makes some like this one

Pete - depends on the make of the car - I've noticed ford/gm/nissan seem to work with the car off, Mercedes and BMW don't; not sure of other makes.

Yup; assumed that they were all the same.

The Homelink devices are a plug n play installation if its a retrofit.

Wow just noticed that Homelink appears to be available in most automobiles these days.

We have in place Liftmaster garage door openers; years now with no issues.
