Need Contact Installation Help

You guys probably run into this challenge all the time but I haven't done this before.  I need to add sensors to the two openings pictured below.  The double door has two swinging doors.  I need help on how to drill for the wire and what contacts would work well.

standard 3/8" recessed contact. 3/4" if you really want to.
 
You have no choice but to drill through the header, but with a 1/4" or 3/8" hole, it's not like there's going to be a structural issue or a 3/4 or 1" hole like standard electrical.
 
As many code officials have stated, sometimes you've gotta do what you need to do....
