Need Programmer

I am looking for a programmer that is willing to work with me on setting up the OMNIpro 2 and Homeseer. I am think that most os the automation part can be done remotely and then I can upload it to the panel and controller. I have a lot stuff already add to set up ,but I still have a bit more to add. I am running into a conflict of schedules and so I am looking for someone that can finish this so that I can get my home online. I can pay through paypal or any other secure medium that you decide.

How much should I pay per /hr for programming?
Can this be done ?

Any takers?

There is a Homeseer 3 plugin currently being worked on that you can test right now over here.

HAI Panel for HS3 (rmasonjr)

As the application (Homeseer 3 OmniPro plugin) is not complete it would behoove you to DIY test the Homeseer 3 software autonomous from programming your panel.

Relating to programming the OmniPro 2 I am guessing that if you posted here on Cocoontech with the request you would fine somebody / company willing to program your OmniPro 2 panel which wouldn't have anything to do with Homeseer 3.

You can also ask HST (write to Mark) about a resource that you can hire to configure your Homeseer 3 application and maybe your OmniPro 2 panel.

Pete so is this in the wrong spot?

Yes and no.

Many of the folks here on Cocoontech use the OmniPro 2 panel.  Many have DIY'd the installation and programming.

That said you can call look / request for an OmniPro 2 vendor to remotely configure your panel in the vendor section here on Cocoontech.

There are Leviton / HAI / OmniPro vendors here on the forum that you can request services.

I utilize Homeseer as an addendum to my OmniPro 2 panel and learned about doing this on the Homeseer forum in the early 2000's asking questions mostly on the Homeseer forum.

There are Homeseer vendors on the Homeseer forum if you want to ask there relating to your request.

Thanks Pete.

I have done most of the set and wiring stuff myself, but with some big deadlines coming up I must relinquish some of this to a programmer in order to keep things moving .

Remotely any Leviton / HAI / Omni vendor anywhere can program your panel.

Contact Automated Outlet.

I would think that it is very difficult to program a panel remotely without being able to test at the site. Maybe if you use some canned code that is tested and proven but even then each site is unique and may have it's own unique problems. My guess is that remote programming has it's limitations.

Mike.

Here I have been able to program panels if the infrastructure was in place and have had no issues doing that all over the country (literally).

That said on my last attempt pro bono the user said that hardware was connected to the panel where in fact it was only planned.

That said I gave up and told the person to post on this forum and pushed that baby steps stuff.

I then noticed same person was skipping steps and making many assumptions (like the panel would install itself automagically).

Back to the OP here and request and question not answered.

Can this be done ?

no

This is where I suggested hiring an alarm installation contractor.  (well and contracting an LV cabler person/company).

Thing is most alarm contractors will not do this for an alarm panel that they do not sell.  Hence calling up Automated Outlet.  I am not sure if they service Florida.

Where in FL are you?  I'm in the Sarasota area.

I don't do HA specifically, but I do have a part-time engineering consulting practice.  I am an engineer (both software and hardware) with about 20 years of experience, and I have some experience programming HAI Omni Pro II panels.  (Likely not as much experience as pete_c, though!)  Depending on the location and the time required, I might be able to help.  Send me a private message if you are interested, and I'll send you my phone number so that we can talk.
