new, DIY looking for system recommendations

It's an interesting system for sure, but you can do the same exact thing with the ELK M1/HAI OmniPro II, and it would be a lot cheaper.

It doesn't appear that it replaces an ELK or HAI because it doesn't, by it self, operate as a security system, but a big problem is that it doesn't support ELK or HAI either, just a few "dumb" security panels. This is why I've never even looked at it. If it doesn't support HAI, its not even in the running for me.
