Hello New Family!

I'm getting ready to install my new Elk Panel, so I thought I would say hello first before I start asking ya'll a lot of questions lol. My setup includes:

ELK-M1EZ8 (I won this from the WONDERFUL people at Automated Outlet....YOU GUYS ROCK!!)

Acer Windows Home Server

mControl for WHS

Existing security system wiring

X-10 Lamp and wall switches

Setup seems simple, hopefully i will be able to contribute to the form once I figure out what I'm doing.

won it?! pretty awesome!

I hate to be negative, but have you considered a trade-in, for an Elk M1? Martin loves to make his customers happy!

I think the biggest difference between the M1G and the M1EZ8 is the voice announcements. A lot of people, I think, use automation software to fill this need - HomeSeer, CQC, etc., rather than the M1, anyway.

Might be something for you to read up on.

How did you win it? Beer and Brats raffle?

Congratulations, and welcome!

Yes, I won the Beer and Brats raffle. Martin did offer to upgrade, but my wife wasn't trying to hear me. I got everything installed last night and will intergrate my X10 devices tonight. I may buy Homeseer later to add voice, I like mControl but Homeseer looks like it has it beat hands down.

Welcome! Glad to hear you got your panel installed quickly.

CocoonTech is definitely the right place if you have any questions about your Elk Panel. There are a lot of knowledgeable people and even Elk themselves participate in the forum. They can definitely help answer any questions you may have.
