Odd behavior when using a phone number, prefixed with *82.

I normally have my outgoing CallerID blocked on my phone line, but for certain important reminders, I want the M1 to remove the block, since I tend to screen calls going to my cell. I prefixed my phone number with "*82,," and this works great the first time it calls me.

However, if I don't complete/answer the first call, it will call again (I set it for a maximum of 2 attempts). But this time, the CallerID is blocked again. So for some reason, it is only using the "*82,," during the first attempt. I can't figure out what kind of bug would strip that prefix for any successive attempts (unless there is code in place to actually do this), but I am also not sure how it could be a phone company problem.

I have been able to duplicate this issue every time, and also tried "*82,". Any suggestions? Thanks!

First thing I always do with stuff like this is listen in from another handset while it's dialing. At least then you will know if the *82 is present in second dial or not. Doesn't help too much but at least you'll know where the problem is.

To my knowledge the M1 does not block any '*' commands. If it is in the dialling string, it should dial out.

Turn on the Buttset listen in mode in user menu 8 and listen to the outgoing tones. Count the number of digts to see if it is the right number of digits. You may need to add pauses after the *82 to allow the telephone company to process the command.

I have 2 pauses in there right now. I don't have my keypads hooked up right now, but will check it out once they are back online (this is a low priority anyways, just wondering).

Dan, I have exactly the same *82,, string configured, and get exactly the same behavior as you (i.e., the number is unblocked on the first try, but not the second).

Been this way for about a year, and I never had any luck figuring out why.
