Omni Pro II quit working

I am just getting an Omni Pro II going (many years after buying it).  Everything seems to be okay.  As I was uploading some new configuration from PCA (mostly new names), it stopped the upload in mid-stream and the OmniPro hung.  It is now unresponsive from the keypad and unresponsive to PCA.  The keypad (at the time it was hung) reported a tripped sensor.  Now, after restarting it (unplugged the power and the battery) the keypad says "no controller data" and PCA cannot connect.  The wireless unit appears to have power and be working, the status light on the Omni Pro is blinking once a second; the link light on the Ethernet is solid; the data light is blinking as I would expect.

Anything for me to try prior to shipping the board back to the factory for replacement?

Any help appreciated!!
Pete

I am guessing you also tried to connect to the panel via PCA serial or network eh?

Stated here on the forum is that the upload goes to one area of RAM (keeps two on da OPII FW space), waits until the update is done then checks the software then writes the new firmware over the old firmware.

That said you would think a cold boot would start up the old firmware on the board.

I am guessing you bricked it if nada above works.

It is easy to remove the panel taking off the terminal strips one at a time (with all power off).

I am thinking there is an expedite Leviton/HAI quickie turn around service.

Try to upload the firmware again. It sounds like the firmware might have be corrupted. If it still doesn't work, try to upload the previous verion of firmware.

Can't upload anything---no access from PCA.  It was config (not firmware) I was uploading at the time---and the upload was not anywhere near complete.  Unless there is a button or jumper I cannot find to do a full factory reset, I think Leviton/HAI is the only answer.  Interesting note (no idea if it is releavant): Homeseer software says the panel in "online" and then once a minute, the status changes to offline for about 5 seconds -- so it appears that the Homeseer HAI plug-in is somehow able to communicate (or there is something flakey in the plug-in)

Homeseer software says the panel in "online"

Not totally sure that the Homeseer 3 plugin "online" variable feature is connecting to the panel; might be just pinging the interface of the panel.

If you disable the HS3 plugin, then via command line run it; it will open a text box with logging as it chats with the panel.

That little white press button on the OPII clears some stuff; not sure if it will do anything for you though.  It doesn't hurt anything to press it anyways.

There you will see (if its working) the connect, firmware version of the panel and the downloading of the zone information.

You mentioned Keypad before.  Is that a serial wired regular HAI OPII console keypad (with blue keys and LCD?)

I called HAI and they told me (something I have not seen elsewhere in their documentation nor in any forum) that if you leave the unit powered off with battery disconnected for 5 minutes or more, it does a RAM reset --- lo and behold, that did the trick.  Previously, I had turned it off for, perhaps, a minute; but this time I left it off long enough to eat lunch, and when I turned it on, everything appears to be good (needed to set the time and date).

I didn't know that or have seen that here on the forum either.

Good news Pete!!

The current version of the Homeseer 3 plugin has been doing well so far for me.
