OMNIStat2 Questions

Hi All,

   I have two questions regarding the OMNIStat2 Thermostat:
  1. I have a 31A00-8 Outdoor Temp/Humidity sensor installed and would like to see the readings on the OMNIStat2. I see the Outdoor Temp on messages line, but no Outdoor Humidity. Do I need to configure something special on the OMNIStat2?
  2. I have an Indoor Temp sensor on the second floor. The OMNIStat2 is supposed to average the local indoor temp reading (on the OMNIStat2) and any remote temp sensors of the same type. I have configured the Indoor Temp sensor on the second floor as Type 82 (TEMPERATURE). The OMNIStat2 does not appear to be taking the remote temp sensor into account. I have enabled the indoor temp sensor as sensor 2 on the OMNIStat2 Temperature Sensors setting. Any ideas?
   Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
  Randy

Just heard back from Leviton HAI support. With regards to #1 -- outdoor humidity is not displayed on the OMNIStat2. It's a marketing error on the specs. The humidity being referred to is the indoor humidity reading from the internal OMNIStat2 sensor.

Hi Randy:

I think you might be confusing a few things.  It sounds like you are connecting this external temp sensor to the panel.  The external temp sensor has to be connected to the Omnistat2.  In fact i think you can connect 3 additional sensors, but they all need to be connected to the OmniStat not the panel.  When you say you connected it as type 82, that implies panel and not OmniStat.  Once you wire the sensor to the OmniStat, it the setup activate it and make sure the internal sensor is activated also. They will average.

Leviton also makes a remote temp control http://www.leviton.com/OA_HTML/SectionDisplay.jsp?section=62159&minisite=10251
This can also connect to the OmniStat2 and it also contains a temp sensor that can be averaged with the internal sensor.

Thanks Ano. Just received a response from Leviton HAI support to the same effect. You are correct. Thx! :)

We recently talked about this on another thread...

You have choices... if you want the thermostat to average readings, the sensor needs to be attached to the thermostat.

If you want to be able to remote access and automate with the temp/humidity, then the sensor needs to be wired to the panel.

(You can't do both with the same sensor, as far as I know.)

Just installed an omnistat 2; replaced a honeywell;
When the thermostat is on cold the AC blows hot air;
When thermostat is on hot, the AC still blows hot air;
Seems to me that the thermostat is malfunctioning; Can anyone make a suggestion
Thank you
