On-Q with Elk M1 help

Hey Guys

I'm looking for some help with my On-Q and Elk set-up.

I've got a couple of On-q pieces I wanted to try out, so I hooked them up to see if I could get it working. The parts I have are the On-q Elk ALC Lighting Expansion Module 364864-01, the ALC Distribution Module 364645-01, and I currently only have 1 600watt dimmer hooked up and it's all controlled by the Elk M1 Gold. Now on the 364864-01 I get the Status led blinking, the M1 Status is blinking and if you manually turn on/off the dimmer the ALC Function led blinks but I can't seem to get the Elk M1 to control the light. I enrolled the Expansion Module and on the keypad when I go to the Lighting screen, I see the dimmer and press the # key to switch it to On but it doesn't do anything. I also created a rule for the light to come on and nothing happened. Can anyone give me some tips/help on what to check or what possibly the problem could be?

Thanks

A brief review of the Instruction manual for the 364864-01

confirms that you have a problem, and the answer isn't obvious

Is it a conflict with the M1XSP? Lighting interface ships with a default address of '1', set by DIP switches (Fig 2).

Steady blinking LED means A-OK.

If no results soon, PM 'Number 20'/Tony Stewart, from SetNetPro.

Note - I've read much of the installation instructions for the ALC switches, and modules, but I don't own any. I'm leaning heavily toward ALC for lighting control.

And if you do end up PM'ing Tony, I'd appreciate a post with the solution. I hope to be in your position sooner than later.

Hi, I have almost the same problem. Have you solved it? I have tried much troubleshooting, even bought ONQ branchtech software. Their equipment works fine. Must be something with the ELK.

thanks

Mine is working fine. I would think most likely it is a problem in the settings you made in ElkRP.

Ditto...my house is almost complete with the ELK M1 along with ALC switches. Would appreciate any troubleshooting details for when I start setting things up!

My best suggestion is to follow all the instructions carefully. Before beginning the installation, read the install for the Elk<->ALC interface completely (maybe a few times). The way I did it was to get the interface working with just the ALC switches and the interface (no Elk attached). It works fine as a stand-alone ALC lighting controller. THEN, connect and enroll the interface with the Elk M1G. Mine has worked since installation, first time, no tweaking was required. But there are several pitfalls if the instructions are not followed to a T.

The setup seems bulletproof to me. The wife loves it. I just set up some rules to kill lights when we arm the system, turns some lights on when we disarm and the time is "later than 30min before sunset".

Thanks. Does the dimmer function work with the OnQ light dimmer switches too using the elk rules to adjust the percent?
