Haiku Past Versions of HaikuHelper

It may be possible to get it from the App Store. As far as I know, Apple offers older versions there for machines that require the older version.

Ok, apparently it's only possible if the developer allows it. As I see it, there is no previous version in the Mac App Store. Can you either post it or provide an alternate download method?

I am using OS X 10.7.5

I've checked and the requirement is actually that you must be running OS X 10.8 or later to be able to download older versions. Can this machine be updated to 10.8 perhaps?

You can try downloading the current version on a newer machine and it may run on the older system, but we do not provide official support for it.

So the version I purchased about 6 months ago is no longer supported, cant be downloaded on the hardware/OS on which it was initially installed, and I am basically forced now to upgrade the hardware?

Can you explain why you are not able to provide the installation package for the older version through other means? This is extremely frustrating, and frankly an unnecessary pain in the butt.

I already tried this. The program will not run on 10.7.5

This is one of the reason I don't feel like getting a mac mini to run HH.

In the end i was able to get OSX 10.8.x onto a Mac Mini 2,1. There are ways to do it even though the mac is unsupported. I had no intention of buying a new Mac just to run HH, but an older one I already had was the perfect solution.

I guess it depends how heavily one relies on HH. I don't use it much just yet (just for some basic notifications, and HVAC usage history). If i needed it for other "things" i might consider spending on a new Mac.

Sometimes we have to drop support for older OSes due to needing new features to improve Haiku or HaikuHelper further. Though in this case, its Apple that decided that version 10.8 or later is required to download a previous version. In the future this should not be a problem.
