What are the pros & cons of using a speaker versus a siren for use on an M1 output2 (exterior use)?
I realize that using a speaker makes this a non-UL installation and I am OK with that.
speaker advantage: interior & exterior sounds are in sync, not clashing (i have heard this is true, but haven't verified) Is this even worth worrying about considering I hope it doesn't go off very often?
questions:
Does the exterior speaker ever talk? what does the exterior speaker do while the interior speaker is talking? go silent? keep sirening?
How much power/current does the speaker draw? It is impossible to off-load the output2 speaker to a different power supply, whereas the siren(s) can be easily controlled by a relay & powered from an aux power supply.
How loud are the exterior speakers, such as the Elk-44 or Elk-SP40? Does it lose significant volume if you use two speakers?
