QUATECH ThinkQ QSE-100D-BA 4 Port RS-232 Serial Server (CHEAP!)

By box, I meant the box they came in, not "their" box. Mine were all bubble wrapped (and plastic wrapped). No nothing included either.

Not wanting to always be the pessimist, but the PSP could accept AC or DC, but that doesn't help clarify what these power supplies put out. I am assuming DC, but assuming can let the magic smoke out of Quatech box :)

By the way, I found a Buy It Now for $6, free shipping, correct plug size and amperage, and quantities more than 10, so you could get all that you need at once. It is from Hong Kong, so that's been already discussed.

Thanks for the link. I decided to buy from there. Don't forget the Bing Ebay cashback offer (currently 10%). Brings it down to about $5.36 shipped. I also like the fact that I won't have to splice my fittings together. That should make for a cleaner installation.

I received the power supplies today and I'm happy to report that they work just fine. It's the correct plug size and polarity. Less than 10 days to receive them and I'm in SC, so I am sure they came all the way across the country. Anyway, I certainly can green light anyone waiting to see if they worked. ;)

So we know the $6 ones from HK work, has anybody ordered or tested the $4 domestic one?

Rupp, the QSE-100 comes with the drivers, so there isn't much to worry about. The Quatech drivers encapsulate the serial data, so if you want to do 'raw tcp', you would use something like HW VSP. I usually use v2, haven't played with v3 yet.

I tried using HW_VSP 3 on my Hometroller... it worked great until I re-booted and then stopped. I can't reconfigure or reinstall because the configuration page has the Create COM box grayed out and nothing I enter will make it live again. I also think the un-install does not work because after it says it is successful there are still files on the drive. (Can wipe those manually but what is it leaving in the registry?) Any suggestions appreciated!
