Question about Russound Quality Control

I have a pretty simple Russound 44 system. It arrived DOA (bad power switch). It took about 3 weeks to fix. Now about 18 months later I powered it down for maybe the first time in a year and the darn thing is dead. Am I just unlucky or is there hardware sort of flaky?

It should still be under warranty
