I searched around and cant find an answer.....is there a way to make out2 quiet but not silent when testing without resorting to wiring a resistor in the circuit?
I'm testing a breach and I want to hear the difference between out1 and out2 when there is an alarm so that I can maybe use out1 to make a phone call while still alarming out2.
I just answered my own question. The Elk manual requires a 2.2k ohm resistor on out2 when it is not being used so I knew that it was safe to use that same 2.2k in series on the speaker. I then turned ouut1 down low using my TWA amp and I have a nice quiet system that I can test without drawing the police to my house. The out2 is just audible witth the 2.2k resistor and an 8 ohm speaker.
Yeah well I didn't want to resort to finding a resistor that would work for me if I could do it through software but the 2.2k was handy and I got lucky. It wasn't any trouble at all.
