Quieten out2 when testing Elk

I searched around and cant find an answer.....is there a way to make out2 quiet but not silent when testing without resorting to wiring a resistor in the circuit?

Mike.

Specifically when testing - I'm not sure.

However, I know via RP you can disable them. I have rules setup so that no voice announcements are made after 8pm and before 8am - toddler.

I'm testing a breach and I want to hear the difference between out1 and out2 when there is an alarm so that I can maybe use out1 to make a phone call while still alarming out2.

Mike.

I apologize - it's OUT1 that I was thinking of.

I have not tried to mess with OUT2 - I am not sure if this is possible via programming/rules.

I have SP12F speakers connected to OUT1, and a siren connected to OUT2.

I just answered my own question. The Elk manual requires a 2.2k ohm resistor on out2 when it is not being used so I knew that it was safe to use that same 2.2k in series on the speaker. I then turned ouut1 down low using my TWA amp and I have a nice quiet system that I can test without drawing the police to my house. The out2 is just audible witth the 2.2k resistor and an 8 ohm speaker.

Ah, yes.

I assumed you were trying to do this with software/programming only... without having to make any hardware configuration/modification changes.

Yeah well I didn't want to resort to finding a resistor that would work for me if I could do it through software but the 2.2k was handy and I got lucky. It wasn't any trouble at all.
