RCS TR16 won't cool

Trying to install and RCS TR16 with my Elk M1 system.

1) got the TR 16 working stand alone - not connected to my heat pump not connected to the M1 - everything seemed to be working fine. all the right leds in the control module on at the right times.

2) Connect it to the M1 thru the serial expander. got it communicating sends it net set points etc....

3) Connected up the heat pump and then the trouble started.
It won't go into cool mode. the fan comes on, heat mode works fine. but not cooling.

4) took it all the way back to stand alone and it still doesn't ever go into cool mode.

Read thru alot of post on this site. Seems like the TR16 can sometimes have a mind of its own. Is it possible that the M1 sent it some disable command??
Is there a way to reset the RCS TR16??

Anyone have any ideas??

1. The TR16 is set for heat pump mode?

2. Is the changeover output (O) changing state when the TR16 is calling for heat/cool?

Thanks for the response

I have tried it, in all 4 dip switch combos, heat pump , reg and change over both ways. can't get the cooling or the change over to come on.

RCS is based in northern california (about 20 minutes from me!) - shoot them an email and include as much detail as possible.

Hopefully you didn't rely on wire colors, and instead confirmed everything possible when you hooked it up - people cheat all the time on what colors they use and where. Beyond double-checking everything end-to-end, I'm not sure what to recommend.

One other thing I've seen with heat pumps - the fuse inside the cover in the outside unit can get popped if you shorted anything... might be worth checking, but there are dangerous voltages in there, so don't do it if you're not comfortable.
