Remote download of Elk log?

I apologize if I am asking a really basic question that is answered many times before. Though, after searching, I could not find any results on this. This last weekend, my Elk M1 triggered an alarm state while my wife and I were both away from home. It was at this point that I realized I have no way of remotely determining what caused the alarm, or what other sensors might have been set off since the alarm. Can you fill me on on how other Elk owners do this?

I do have an Android phone and would think either an Android or web app would be an easy solution. Though, of the two Android apps for Elk I found, neither have the capability of downloading the Elk log as far as I can tell. Though, I emailed both developers to ask and be sure, but have not received a response yet. Also, the Elk Ethernet web interface does not seem to have this feature either. Are there any other Android or web options for this?

I can't think of a way to do it, other than writing a program that connects to the XEP and polls it for new logs, and then logs them to a file or sends them off based on some sort of filter.

It would be nice if the M1 supported syslog or SNMP polling or traps. I think there's a lot of room for improvement around how the M1 and the Omnipro implement (not necessarily integrate with) modern technology. Though, I know that UL listing requirements are tying the hands of these guys to a degree also.

If you have RP and access to programming, you would be able to do this.

Even if your Elk was installed by an integrator, they can allow you to have RP and lock out the options that could compromise the panel's security integrity, but allow you access other areas of the programming.

if you are using HomeSeer and have the Elk plugin installed, you can see the ELK log from your homeseer web pages.

The easiest way (for basic notifications) is to have the M1G email you a specific message to your phone which you'll receive as a text.
I have mine setup for text messages to specify if it was a glass break detector, or even which specific door & window. If there are multiple alarm conditions, you'll get multiple texts. So...if there is a very large storm going on and my alarm goes off from my glass break I might react differently than if I received that alarm notification along with a window breach.

I also have the system setup to text a "daily test message" each day so I know (at least to that point) my notifications are operational.

Problem is that you can only have 10 different notification messages configured.

More like 15 or 16, but, yes still an issue.
For example I have a generic message for all water zones, specific message for each point of entry and each room of 1st floor windows. The rest are just what type of zone violation.
