Remote Relays?

Is there any way to hook up some relays for the ELK but to have them in a different location? I want to put in 3-6 relays downstairs but my elk is upstairs. I don't really want to run 3-6 more wires down the conduit since it's already pretty packed. I do have a M1DBH already downstairs and was hoping to use that. Any chance?

Use an M1XOVR data bus relay output module. It has 8 relays onboard and can expand 8 more relays. It resides on the RS-485 data bus where ever you want to put it.

Spanky's solution works great - I have my M1XOVR and M1RB in the garage in its own can (the 14" that came with the elk) - gives me 16 relays in the garage connected by only a Cat5. Since you already have the DBH there, you're all set.

I had seen that along with the other Elk expanders but did not realize that it was on the 4 wire bus unlike the others. Now I just need to find a good deal on one.
