RFXCOM to Powermid and back?

Has any one tried transmitting from an RFXCOM to a Powermid receiver as a way to get IR in to the room? How about the other way... is it possible to 'learn' IR codes by having the RFXCOM listen to the Powermid receiver? It seems that the non north american version of the Powermid uses 433mhz, so there is some chance. Anyone?
