Scoping out an ELK M1G install

it turns out the solution was simple...uncheck the box that turns LEDs off after 60 seconds. will leds able to blink, they blink properly.

When I began deciding what I wanted in a security system I put a GD-open indicator high on the list. I was pleased to succeed in flashing the F1 button on the bedroom keypad when the GD is not closed. Then I discovered I have to turn off the backlights if my better half is going to get any sleep. I was not so pleased to have to decide between seeing the flashing warning or turning it off. I'll eventually wire an LED to the keypad's local output wire and change rule accordingly. Or maybe I'll get used to hitting the *-key when I go to bed to turn the backlights on.

I would like to see ELK give us the option to leave the F-keys flash after the rest of the backlights turn off after a minute.

In case anybody was following along, here is the resulting paging and doorbell setup that works for me.
