Sliding Door Security Bar

Has anybody figure out how to add a sliding door security bar as a zone in the system?
I was thinking about somehow rigging the HAI mini transmitter (58A00-1) to alert me if the security bar was left in the up (unsecured) position.
Any suggestions as to a better way to do this?
Also, is it possible (HAI OPII) to have 2 sensors serving one zone?
For example, both the standard wired sensor and the wireless sensor would have to be in the secure position for the zone to be secure. I realize that if the security bar is down and locked, the door would have to be closed but a redundant system would be nice being that one of the sensors is wireless and battery operated.
Thanks in advance!

I think the only way to mix wired and wireless sensors in a single zone would be to use something like the 3 zone transmitter and wire two standard wired contact in in series to the contacts. I don't think there's any other way to do it where they are on the same zone because of the wireless.

You could use a wired and a wireless zone, separately in the controller, and use programming to check they are both secure.

If you could feed the wire up through the rear of the door jamb you should be able to super glue a magnet to the bar and simply connect the two wired contacts in series on the same zone.

More exotic ways might be to use a contact switch where the bar locks in, or even an LED and optical sensor.

Thanks Jeff!
After checking out the door jamb, I think I may be able to hard wire this thing after all.
