Smartlinc 2412N with X-10?

I just got my Smartlinc controller and its lack of X10 support for scenes is very disappointing. I have a lot of "legacy" X10 stuff that I'd still like to control!

There is a "Edit Customized Controls" page that allows you to enter cryptic codes that seem to support X-10 but it doesn't seem to be working. It will display what is coming down the line but when I try to program it in and play it back it doesn't work.

Am I understanding the purpose of this screen at all?

Addressing K5 looks like:
02523100

and On looks like:
02523280

but put together they don't seem to work.

Am I on the wrong track here?

I think I found the answer. The SmartLinc can control X10 in scenes! But it is crazy and cryptic.

To decode / encode the command string see: (the smarthome wiki online: I am not allowed to post links being a newbee and all)

The magic for ON in my case was:
02633100P102633280
0263 means X10
3 means house code K
1 means unit 5
00 is finish address

P1 to pause 1 second

0263 means X10
3 means house code K
2 means ON
80 is finish command

They couldn't come up with a shortcut for this agony? Perhaps I am still missing something...

Thanks for the reply. Good info. I will dive into that a bit further. Just seems like they really missed the mark with this software forcing us to come up with strings of mumbo-jumbo to control X-10!

I've having a simular issue with the smartlinc and x10 devices.

My x10 device is a black and decker, BLUE - 13... I tried going through all the letters and 13 on the x10 controller page, and found the device to be M-13.

M = 0
13 = 000

I tried
0263 0 0 00 P1 0263 0 2 80

No go.

I'm viewing the source from the x10 page for the "chart" for this.. going wrong somewhere.

Can someone help with both on / off and pause??

Which B&D module do you have?

Most just have two dials you can directly read the house and unit code.

The B&D FWLROD Weather Resistant module is the only one I have seen with no dials and is programmed with X10 commands.

The numbers you chose look correct to the chart. Are you adding the spaces shown in your example? I believe there should be no spaces between the numbers.

If you used spaces try.
02630000P102630280 for M13 On
02630000P102630380 for M13 Off

I have another thread going at smarthome with the same problem-

can't post links but TOPIC_ID=6193

M13 is the code I was using through the smartlinc x10 controller interface. Blue 11-13, Blue 13 the button being pressed.

I tried power cycling the unit, etc. Using the test button works, just not on the main screen for the room.

Weird..

I believe you posted in the Smarthome Forums that you found a bug with the first scene in the room and it is now working.

Now I understand the Blue 13 thing. You where using the FWIR Remote through the FWMH Messenger Hub to control the module originally.
You could also have found the address on the dials of the module, unless it was the outdoor one that programs through X10 commands at power up.

That's currently where the troubleshooting is now. It's still not working with the second scene as suggested to try.. possibly a bug, still unknown. Just a FYI for this thread in case someone else is having the same problems I am!
