Since I'm a little bored, I thought I'd post up a couple pictures of my work that I've done recently and in the past. With the exception of the racks of time lapse, these are all residential projects. While not perfect, they represent how I think equipment that is installed properly should look.

Anyone else out there know of any other pros that install HAI and Elk? I'm thinking I'm a rare breed.

I do the same thing like you did in pic 1 with the loop of wire coming from the right side, going past the rack, then back towards it. I always leave service loops, but prefer it that way instead of an actual "loop". Since it's usually done in the drop ceiling you don't see it anyway.

In the sixth pic, it looks like those green terminal blocks are being used as a patch device. Do you remember any details on that?

Always leave slack and service loops unless it's cross connection wiring in a rack, and that's really the only place it's acceptable. Drop ceilings are nice, but when you don't have them, you have to find other means. I've used troughs in the past and put my slack in them.

Depends on the setup, but this was used to print off-normal events only and a few custom configured events. We were running an "commercial" fire and security software setup installed into our own PC that met the manufacturer's specs instead of a top dollar Comark unit.

I've used romex staples for this in the past, also Adel clamps or similar, depends on the bundle's weight. Wire basket trough is also nice to use.

They came from either a local supplier or either Digikey or Allied, can't remember. Believe they were spec'd by the customer, I only have so much I can remember.

Well, I wasn't really serious about the DM Printer... more of a joke about how dated the pics looked, but then it turned into less of a joke. If I had one sitting around, I'd probably try to find a use for it, needed or not.

As if the first set of pics wasn't enough though, the second set blew my mind. I just completed a MA rack for my HT. Yeah, I got the lacing bars and laced it up nice, but it wasn't even a tenth as much equipment, and it's not even a tenth as nice as that. I even learned how to custom terminate wires so I wouldn't have a lot of slack, but my custom terminating is more like within an inch or two. Yours all look EXACT.

I totally thought it would be that easy before I started. Ups my appreciation big time.

Well, I wasn't really serious about the DM Printer...

Cut it up for parts...make a 3 axis CNC machine!

That's what I did with mine.

OP: awesome job. Makes me want to get you over to my house to fix up the wiring in there! My wires are neat, but you go beyond the call of duty! I would be PROUD to work on a setup you left for me! (unlike the usual; grumble grumble!)
