I know others have done it but, in following you, IVB, I added an automatic front door cam popup to the Convergent Living TP's in the house. When someone approaches the front door, I have a Paradox PIR (can't remember the part number but it's meant to only pickup motion BELOW it, mounted on the street side of the porch and above) detect motion and upon that event the TP's go to a full screen, full motion view of the front door cam via an AXIS webserver. The wife absolutely loves it! I want to order a pizza just to play with it!

You give me too much credit, 99% of my ideas aren't even my ideas - they're ones that I pick up from scrounging around the various forums. It is interesting how quickly simple things pop up to the top of WAF. We've had an increase in crime lately, so seeing who's @the front door from a variety of angles (we have 3 different front door/front yard cams) is her new favorite thing.

I'm prototyping some stuff for the new house. I installed zoneminder on a used 1u server I got on ebay and plugged a couple IP cams into the router. My wife has been very indulgent, letting me spend hours tinkering with this stuff, but she's, like, "have your fun honey." Yesterday I showed her the event timeline on zoneminder and we caught my son in the act of spilling the detergent in the laundry room. The light is coming on over her head now and she's as (almost as) excited as I am about integrating the security and HA stuff.
