I'm finally getting close to completion on building my new home. The HVAC contractor has the furnaces installed and working, along with the zone controllers, dampers, etc., but they've set it up for testing with their standard, non-communicating thermostats.
The home's automation and security will be controlled by an Elk M1G. I'd like to use communicating thermostats to allow control via the Elk. It seems like I have a complicated setup, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what my options are for thermostats.
I have two furances/air conditioners, and both also have their own heat pump. There are four total HVAC zones in the house, with each furnace unit running two zones. The furnaces are Bryant, and I believe the zone system is a Honeywell (I can get the specific model tonight if that would make any difference).
I like the HAI RC-2000, but I don't feel like I really need its full set of capabilities at all four locations, and at around $300 each, it's not cheap. Any suggestions, advice, etc. on alternate options?
Thanks!
