Two Elk systems

Is there any way (or is it even needed) to connect two elk m1 Gold systems together for easy monitoring? I would have one elk system in my primary residence, and the other at a vacation home in another state. Both would be connected to the internet. I guess i could create a VPN tunnel between the two houses, but that seems like overkill.

Are you referring to self-monitoring only?
 
I would manage them as 2 separate systems for 2 separate houses. I only see added confusion when you speak of "connecting" the two houses - The front door is open? From which house? ...

I don't see any benefit to trying to combine them either.  How would the monitoring company know which alarm was going off?  It's no good if your vacation home is being broken into and the cops show up at your primary residence while your family is home!  I'm not sure the wife would ever forgive you when she is ordered to the ground at gun point.
 
Spend the extra $20 per month and split the systems into two separate accounts.
