Via Touchpanels with any other system...

I just came across a VIA2-8.2 Color LCD Touchpanel and a VIA64 color LCD touch panel.

Can these be integrated into either an ELK or OmniPro Panel?

In a word, no. ELK and HAI use a proprietary signaling between the panel and touchscreen, so at the minimum you'd need to figure that out first. Then (not sure about ELK) but HAI panel touchscreens have many screens in firmware in the device itself. Other screens are downloaded from the panel. So if you were an EE and spent a year reverse engineering a touchscreen, you could potentially do this, but it would probably be better use of your time to spend the time getting a job, then use your first paycheck to buy a ELK or HAI touchscreen.

Elk uses TCP/IP for its touchscreens. If those VIA units run the appropriate OS and meet the requirements for the ElkRMS touchpanel software, then yes, they could be used with Elk.

ONly reason I was asking is that I ran across a GREAT deal on two Brand new, in the box VIA Panels, along with a VIA DJ that I wouldn't use. Retail on these TC LCD Panels is above $1000 each, and will run full video as well. If they could have been integrated, it would have been a nice spot to save money. If not, then I would have just gone the other route. While money is not really an Issue at this point, it's more a matter of "IF these are nicer and have more robust functionality, and can be used.. Why not?"

But then that question has been answered. LoL.
