Vizia RF Z-Wave

Ok, here is what I got. A handful of Vizia RF switches/dimmers all on the 1st floor of my house. In the basement, I have one switch controlling an outdoor outlet that has low voltage transformer plugged in. The switch works for this outlet manually but not in the Zwave network. For some reason I am unable to pair this switch in with the rest of the network. Unfortunatley, this is the only one I didn't install and actually I am not even sure what he did (I was not home). There is a 3 conductor cable coming into the outlet from the panel and no other cable in or out. The black is wired to hot, white to neutral, red to load and copper to ground. I am not sure how the electric is even getting to the outlet outside from here, perhaps there is a wire running from the panel to here also. Sorry for the confusion but does anyone have any guidance. It could be the switch is bad, too far from the rest (probably @ 20-30 ft away) or is there a wiring problem.

Thanks,
Mike

Are you sure this is a normal circuit? It sounds like a three-way. Are you sure you're not dealing with a companion switch? (Companion switches work with the other Vizia dimmer/switch on the network). What wires are going into the switch box? What are going into the outlet box? Are you using a dimmer or a switch?

Have you tried excluding it and then adding it? Have you tried resetting it and then adding it?

To reset: Pull the paddle up until the LED goes out. Push the paddle back down and hold until the LED flashes red.

Thank you so much. Duh, the reset worked. I am still a little concerned how this might be wired. I will have to do some probing at the panel to determine the method. The three conductor cable has me confused and that the switch is not wired directly to the outlet. I will post an update when I figure it out.

Politics:
I am using a switch not dimmer and it is not a companion. It does seem like it is wired for three way.

Wires from electric panel to switch
Black - BK
White - WH
Red - RD
Copper - green screw

There is no other cable running out of the switch, it appear that there is 12/2 wire running to the outlet straight from the panel. I have not opened the outlet to check the wiring yet. Anyhow, it all works both manually and rf. I just want to understand the schematics of this for future considerations.

Thanks again
Mike
