Way2Call SDK - Getting Started

Greetings,

I have started working with the SDK for my Way2Call Hi-Phone DeskTop Lite. I am using the latest 64-bit drivers.

I am trying to figure out the .NET API and am using VB.NET. I was able to get it to Dial a number so I think my setup is probably ok. I may be getting bogged down with delegates.

At this point I am trying to set up some simple VB.NET 2010 code to detect when the phone rings and once I can do that I want to pick up the Caller ID. I think I may be close but of course close doesen't count for much. I have not been able to find hardly any sample code with the SDK and there does not seem to be much description in the help file (labeled as preliminary documentation) provided.

I will get this figured out if I live long enough but I was hoping someone on Cocoontech might have a simple VB.NET sample or be able to provide a link to one.

Thanks!
Brian

Is anyone using this SDK?

i would be surprised. Most people using this modem are using it via the Homeseer software.

Brian,

I currently utilize my W2C box with Homeseer; its been fine for many years.

I primarily only utilize it for a program called SnelvCID. Its a utilitarian program which does all kinds of stuff.

I mostly use it with two NETCID boxes; such that it'll pick up on toll free or do not call list type of calls.

It'll say something about not calling the number via TTS; then provide one of those telephone "tones" for the telemarketer machines.

It can also be utilized for TTS VR commands to HS, answering machine, etc.

You could maybe post a message on the Homeseer forum to Steve about the W2C box; much though is probably propietary HS "kernel" calls to the base HS OS.

I do have more W2C devices that I could connect to other PC's to test your "stuff" at some future time.

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping there might have been some folks on CocoonTech that were using the Way2Call SDK but it would appear that this may be an area where there is not much interest. I am still working on it and I think if I can figure out how to set things up to get their delegates to fire a sub I might be able to make some progress.
