What is needed to communicate to NextAlarm?

I've struggled a bit with this... in a house filled with IP, I'd expect more from the elk...

Elk's XEP unfortunately is a bit of a POS. I love the concept, but it reports about 80% of the events - and for alarm, I expect 100%.

The big problem with the cell providers and the ABN from what I understand is that they fake out the central station then SMS to the station what the alarm codes are. That's why they aren't that great.... they don't know if communication failed, so they'll trigger a cell connection if that's your backup. The SMS may take hours from what I've read.

I could and would type for hours what I've read thoroughly inviting others to add opinions, but I'm tired and it's late... but long story short, as overdue as we are for new technologies, POTS alarm is still the only decent option. Think security screws and tamper switches - beyond that, you're just another sign in the yard.
