I'm building a new house and I'm just finishing up the 120v wiring and need to get all my home automation wiring ordered. Along with the various 2 and 4 conductor wire, cat5e/6, I need high quality mini coax for the video distribution. Anyone know of a good source preferably in Orange County, if not the Los Angeles area, that has it all and at a good price?
Also, I need to get the precise location behind the TV for power and distribution cables box mounted on the studs now for my wall mounted TV's, but I'm not sure where to locate the boxes in relation to the TV's position. It's not a big deal on my larger TV but on some of the small ones their isn't much wiggle room to mount the TV and I don't want the boxes to interfere with the TV wall mount apparatus or be seen. I'll be using those large white plastic boxes that include power and have lots of room for distribution cables. I've never mounted a TV on a wall and am not sure how big the mounts are for small TV's. On a 28" TV, about how far down(?) should I mount the top of the box from the TV centerline?
Lastly, I see Home Depot and Lowes carry a 4'x8' sheet 1/2" thick of sound suppression board that is put on before drywall, it's some kind of soft wood product. Anyone have any experience with it?
