Which pigtail for ELK M1KPAS?

My M1KPAS has a pigtail that is included with it, but doesn't say what the part number is for the pigtail. In the manual for the M1KPAS it says to connect it with an ELK-WO40A. Turns out I think this is an RS232 connector...? This doesn't look right, can anyone confirm that this is a typo in the manual on page 2? Also does anyone have a part number for the 4 wire flying lead?

The W040A is definitely an RS-232 cable according to some looking I did at AutomatedOutlet.com and my guess that it is a typo.

You may be able to use the ELK-W018B or the ELK-W035A if you align the pins correctly but I don't have a PAS to check to see if the connectors are the same.

It it brand new? I'd send it back for the complete package if so...

No, it doesn't get connected via rs232, but what is the question? You said you have the pigtail - why do you need a pigtail? Just wire it up to the databus.

I don't know what manual you are looking at but the M1KPAS manual I'm looking at clearly shows W018B as the cable part number on page 2.

The manual dated 08/24/06 clearly identiifies that cable as Elk-WO40A.

Thanks for the confirmation. This is my first elk install and i donk know how many devices ill have connected to the databus so more than anything im just doin homework identifying parts numbers if i need more...

The pigtails for all the keypads come with them. Any peripheral input/output expanders, barring the M1RB, can use (and used to be recommended to NOT use the WO18B pigtail connectors to the panel) regular copper wiring to them.
