Since it's more of an artform, it depends on the person actually making them. I left that side of the business over 20 years ago, so what I did may not still be applicable. We made (and soldered) all of our leads by hand. 3 years, I made at least 15K screens.....if not more.
I can't comment as far as the others, but part of the equation is the person rolling in the material, combined with the quality of the splices. Some heat shrink is more porous than others and the quality of the leads also come into play. I would suggest getting a look at the workmanship prior to jumping. I remember back in the day there were shops everywhere in NY manufacturing screens, they'd disappear every slow season and never return, so little reason to promote longevity or quality work. Same goes with using fiberglass vs aluminum....the land of ground faults.
Part of the equation is the locale they are installed in and the workmanship methods used.....what works in FL may not work in NE and vice versa.
