Windows on ARM?

in case you missed it, there's speculation that microsoft will announce an OS that runs on ARM processors at CES in january http://goo.gl/Jydv6 it would be cool if you could run visual studio to cross compile your regular windows apps to this ARM OS, but then you'd have to pay for licenses. that could make a $25 dockstar into a $50+ device, making it a whole lot less attractive...

I view this as a Windows Mobile target and would think the revenue model would be similiar to Windows CE. If I recall the embedded CE license was only around $5 vs. the $75 for embedded XP (depending upon quantity). It has been several years since I dealt with this so my prices may be in error. Note also that the generic Visual Studio does not work for the embedded platforms. I believe the licence for the Embedded Visual Studio development was aroud $1500.
