Wireless Mics

So, I see these wireless mics at Target for $15 and figure I could make it work with my soundcard. No go. I hacked the cable to isolate the bias voltage from the soundcard by not connecting the middle section of a stereo connector. Is there some signal conversion that I need to do? I thought I noticed that someone here was using a wireless mic.
