X-10 to upb

What I am doing is sending an IR X-10 code from a pronto 7000 to a IR543 to the plugged in CM11A to a X10 to upb converter (XPW713) to operate my upb light switches. What I would like to know is there a way to send the X10 code directly from the remote to the CM11A and eliminate the IR543?

Wouldn't you be better off going directly from IR to UPB? E.g. http://www.homecontrols.com/Monterey-Instr...Module-MIIRUPBM Going to X10 first will slow things down and add another opportunity to failure.

Thanks for the reply. I'm new at this and just learned something. My biggest concern is the failure of the X10
